Economics made much more sense to me once I stopped treating every diagram as something to memorise. That’s pretty much how I teach it now. I’ve tutored A-Level Economics for four years, mostly one-to-one, and spend a lot of time on elasticity, market failure and macro policy. I’m happy to go slowly when a topic is new, but once it clicks I’ll bring in past-paper questions fairly quickly so we can test it properly.

I am an experienced A-Level Economics teacher with 12 years in secondary education. My main focus in private tuition is improving written analysis and evaluation, particularly for students who understand the content but struggle to translate that knowledge into higher-mark answers. I regularly use examiner reports alongside past papers. Development economics is a favourite area of mine because it generates some excellent discussions.

I started tutoring Economics while completing my postgraduate studies and have now been teaching A-Level students for just over seven years. I’m especially interested in behavioural economics, although I’m equally happy getting stuck into exchange rates or monetary policy. My sessions are fairly informal. Students can bring along a school question, an essay they’ve struggled with or simply a topic that never quite made sense in class.
